This hasn't been watched much on Youtube but it's actually one of my most often requested songs, & it gets played at most concerts, even after being around for well over 20 years.

I wrote this at a little folk festival south of Auckland. The fest was held in an outdoor recreation camp in the middle of winter, so all the holiday homes in the area were empty at the time & the weather was a bit bleak. But a warm sense of community pervaded the festival & I got to thinking about the shared spaces that people inhabit, places like that hall & bunk rooms, where they briefly create a little world, & then go home again, to be followed in due time by another pop-up community inhabiting the same space, but completely unaware of each other.
